Double Delight Roses

This is my first born! I was just playing around to see if I could paint with fabric without using any paint. I was looking at the Jackson & Perkins flower catalog picking out roses for my mother and thought, how could I make this with just fabric? I wasn't sure how far you could go with the thread play and would it still be considered a quilt? I knew it needed more thread but how would I do it? The rest is history.
