Information about my classes at the 2012 International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas

 

I will be teaching the Bluebonnet and Zinnia classes.  Dates of the classes have not been released yet.

 

The fabric kits for class include:

• My hand-dyed fabrics to make your complete flower.

• 1 yard of Steam-A-Seam 2, 18” wide, to get you started

There will be several flower colors to choose from. 

 

 

Supplies you need to bring:

• Scissors

• Straight pins

• Sharpie markers, bold tip and ultra-fine tip, in black

• Teflon pressing sheet

 

Background fabric is your choice.  The flowers always look good on a dark background but if you want to try it on other colors GO FOR IT! I want you to be creative.  Bring extra fabrics to choose from and remember you can go out at lunch and buy more if you don’t like the ones you brought.

•      For the Zinnia you will need 1 yard of background fabric

•      For the Bluebonnet you will need 1/2 yard background fabric

 

The fusible.  Steam-a-Seam 2 is what I use.  It is NOT the lite but the regular Steam-a-Seam 2 . The 2 at the end means that it is sticky on BOTH sides.  Other fusibles will not work with my technique.
